7/12/2005 Swimming Alert: Fecal coliform level at the
beach exceeds EPA recommended levels for swimming. This is probably due to
the water fowl (or the foul water ;-) and all of the recent storm water runoff
(over 16 inches of rain in July). Please exercise caution if/when
swimming. Read more about FC
here. Also, please remember that it takes 7 days to get the test
results back from the lab after the samples are taken.
6/30/2005: Once the geese started roosting at the beach, fecal coliform levels went up at
beach and down at picnic grounds. Let's hope they start flying again soon.
