As discussed in the May and September membership meetings, the Board was asked to evaluate concerns and determine a means to secure access to the lake. The Board has approved the placement of an access gate at the boat ramp for the following purposes:

• Security/Liability Protection: Limit entrance to members only by providing a coded access to the lake, similar to the picnic and beach areas. Respond to members' complaints and concerns regarding unauthorized access to the lake.
• Health & Safety: Remove boat ramp as "walkway" for geese accessing the Chapel parking lots and lawn; areas frequently used by families, Chapel guests, children at play and our community events.

Once installed, the gate will have a key-press pad with a unique code to allow members access to the lake for watercraft registered with Berkeley Lake Homeowners Association and displaying BLHA stickers and numbers.

Further details will be communicated prior to installation of the gate. Members who trailer their boats and will need access to the new security code are requested to contact the BLHA Board.
